I am thrilled you stopped by my fancy schmancy new blog. This blog will revolve around the sometimes messy, never perfect days at our home, 716.
Did you see this quote featured recently in Country Living Magazine?
I love the quote and the concept for a lot of reasons but two things for me stand out. First, individuality – whether in personal style, attitude, design or whatever the situation – is awesome, plain and simple. Second, the refreshing perspective on personal style above is brought to you by not the Editors of Country Living, not by Martha Stewart but a homeowner. Let’s face it, those of us in the trenches of life juggling kids, schedules, balancing beauty with reality, searching for discounts, herding pets, managing stress and sleep deprivation, all as we utilize what we have…we know what’s up. Empires like Pinterest have been built with the creative fires of folks just like us. We are shaking the design world cage armed with glue guns and thrift store finds.
I have spent a good deal of time following the blogging community from the sidelines. One of my favorite sayings is that “comparison is the thief of joy”. This is true in our homes, relationships, jobs, our children and even blogs. The internet is flooded with creative, fabulous bloggers who inspire (see blogs I follow below.) Today I leave the blogging sidelines and I plan to maximize concepts in blogging that have served me well in our own home. My hope is that my blog is useful, meaningful and celebrates imperfections as well as the journey itself. Much like our home, littlemrssevenonesix.com will be a virtual collection of things that I love and enjoy. My hope is that it becomes a beautifully authentic, useful, and inspiring part of my story and yours as well.
